Johnny Depp, Quid, and Crumpets

Third episode of Ask a British Girl - a selection of questions I've been asked recently by the lovely people of YouTube :)

The Most Annoying Movie Moments

What, pray, is this? "A YouTube frenzy!" I hear you say. Well, yes. That's what comes from having summer holiday and currently no job.

(Emphasis on the hopefully-not-too-lengthy "currently"...)

why do we have a queen?

As you know from previous posts I'm a fan of our Queen, so here's the second instalment of Ask a British Girl :)

un autre

Did another vlog, this time about the new Robin Hood film. Two vlogs in three days? I'm just enjoying my new editing software too much :)
Also wanted to share this tasty picture:

This is my red velvet cake no. 2 in the making. I didn't have my cake tins here in Newcastle so I split the mixture between a couple of loaf tins - our red velvet loaves were demolished in about two days between four hungry housemates. A job well done :)

seduced by a big, shiny, Apple

New vlog - finally! Woot woot. Me waxing lyrical about the glorious Apple shop in Newcastle. Have a look-sie if you have a minute.

magic tricks, wave-chasing, and welly-whanging champions

I have finally finally done the video for the Easter holiday and it's up and running on YouTube. It was so nice going back and looking at all the clips I'd taken during the week - spring-like and cheerful. Mint :)

back on track

Well thank goodness for that.

Laptop issue sorted at last after final showdown in the repair shop. So yesterday I went and bought another one, as mine was apparently dead as a doornail.

So now that I have a fully-functioning beauty of a laptop I can crack on with some uni work that really pretty desperately needs doing (8000 words in 3 weeks? No problem... *cough*).

Leunig on Sunday
and Monday's Faces shall start again with fresh vigour and excitement, and a film of Easter at Othona (see last year's) soon to follow. Huzzah for that!

big glasses, emergency pants, and overly-polished blonde women...

Latest vlog is done - yay! Want to get back into the swing of it after almost 6 WEEKS without laptop. It's gonna be good...

I'm really excited about developing my next roll of film (cracking on with number 5 on the list), I've nearly finished it! I was trying to take some cool in-the-metro shots yesterday, but this bloke at the other end of the platform kept looking over suspiciously at me so I kept surreptitiously hiding the camera back in my bag. Grr. Still, I managed to take a sneaky picture when he wasn't looking...

Excessively excited for Sunday - Tom and Joel are coming to stay and it will be mint. Very very excited.

an unexpectedly mint day

Today I ventured out into Newcastle with one of my housemates to try and find a computer repair place in the vain hope that I might be able to get my laptop fixed.

We eventually found a place in a quiet shopping centre, which was run by a couple of Geordie blokes, and proceeded to spend much of the day in their tiny shop with them and their dog with kidney-failure called Smudge.

Turns out there is something wrong with my motherboard/graphics card and it's really common with my particular laptop. Ach. Should cost about £170 to get it repaired, but after that it should be ok. Then normal service shall resume and I can crack on with blogging/vlogging with renewed vigour once more.

In the meantime I have bought a copy of Les Misérables and will settle down with it for the night very contentedly with a hot water bottle on my feet.

infuriatingly

my laptop has given up the ghost. Which, while on a worldwide scale it may not appear to be so important, it's a pretty big bloomin pain in the bum. Agh.

Was just getting into the swing of vlogging - I will be back with a vengeance once laptop is sorted/I've had to fork out an outrageous amount of money for a new one.

Hate hate hate loathesome technology!

Mind you, will probably work out for the best - I've got a couple of exams in the next week or so, so kamikaze laptop probably did me a favour by not leaving YouTube and Facebook looming temptingly before my eyes...

And it's giving me chance to snap away with the ol' camera. I'll post my first batch of pictures on here when I get chance :)

one of the more flowery outcrops of modern life

Such such splendid times. I love my blog (so much), and I have always loved YouTube, but I think I've fallen for YouTube even more deeply in the past few weeks.

I have added links to a few excellent channels in the "Some Things Extraordinary" list on the right - definitely worth a look.

I am not neglecting my blog, however, as I do adore it - but new realms of YouTubian possibility are revealing themselves in an exciting way.

If you're not a user of YouTube or just haven't really explored it much, I really encourage you to. Well worth it.

exciting

I have decided to embrace the world of "vlogging" (that's the video equivalent of blogging, for the unacquainted...). Huzzah!

Here is my first attempt:
